Fighting
day and night for their survival.
Our Programs
With these programs, we are able to direct our efforts to children diagnosed with cancer in the countries we are focused in. With your help and by working together, we can fund and improve these programs to help these children and increase their rate of survival.

Dominican Republic

In partnership with Fundación Amigos Contra el Cáncer Infantil (FACCI), this is our flagship program that established the first pediatric oncology program at the Hospital Infantil Robert Reid Cabral in the Dominican Republic. Our focus is on supporting all logistical aspects of the program. including physician and nurse salaries, staffing and training, hospital infrastructure, psychological support, medication access, and connections to world class experts.
Our combined efforts and collaboration with our partner have improved survival rates dramatically, playing a critical role in implementing change and support for the children cared for by the program. In addition, the program has introduced the Casa FACCI, the country’s first Ronald McDonald-style facility that provides food and shelter for children and caregivers while they are being treated at the hospital.
Colombia

Our first project is VIGICANCER, an award-winning effort supporting a national database that collects clinical, demographic, and outcomes data in order to measure the direct impact of treatments and interventions on child survival throughout the country. By tracking these survival rates and outcomes, we’re able to assess existing inequalities and survival disparities present in Colombia’s healthcare system to help us ensure every child is enrolled in the database and support their treatment more efficiently.

The second project is NAVIGUIA, a case management network created with the purpose of addressing these survival inequalities by assisting children with cancer and their families with navigating the country’s healthcare system and ensuring they have access to all the services they need through case workers. These managers monitor child patients by identifying barriers to care, ensuring that they adhere to treatments, and make sure that families have a safe place to stay and are supplied with the resources they need.

Brazil

Partnering with CONIACC (National Confederation of Support Institutions to Children and Adolescents with Cancer) and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, we’ve focused on developing and implementing a new chemotherapy regimen known as GBTLI, a less intense and more efficient regimen for curing acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL). This new treatment has led to over 90% cure rates and has since been extended across Brazil and the Amazon region.
