Our Story
From a Parent’s Worst Nightmare, To a Journey of Hope
Imagine having your two kids diagnosed with cancer in the span of weeks. That’s exactly what happened to my wife and I in 2003. Our toddlers, Ryan and Keira, were diagnosed with leukemia and the world crumbled beneath us. As physicians, we did everything in our power to give them the best medical care possible. Ryan thankfully survived – but Keira lost her battle.
Despite our heartbreak, we found a new purpose: Ryan’s survival became a light in our darkest moment, a constant reminder of the power of hope and the possibility of healing. Through sharing our story, we realized just how fortunate we were to access the care that saved Ryan’s life, and believe in the opportunity to help and heal others in turn.
The Keira Grace Foundation brings hope and healing to children and families battling childhood cancer in places where access to care is limited and known cures are out of reach. We created this foundation to honor our daughter and help kids win their fight against cancer so they can live their lives just like Ryan did.
